Q: How long before I can get my new enclosure built or my current enclosure repaired?

A: From the time we have permits in-hand the expected time for installation is 2 to 3 weeks. Because every enclosure needs a permit and because of new engineering and state-dedicated position to increase the strength of enclosures today, plans examiners in the building department are taking longer and longer to approve permits. This results in a stat-to-finish time of from 60 to 90 days. There is NO way to legally side-step the building permit.

Q: How long does the screen enclosure last?

A: The enclosure will last for decades (baring any physical damage due to storms, etc.). The screen itself will last an average of from 6 to 8 years depending on the amount of sun it receives. The more sun it receives, the shorter the life. Proper care will help prolong the life of your screen. Periodic washing with water is recommended.

Q: Why doesn't Tripod Aluminum use stainless steel fasteners?

A: At first glance, stainless steel fasteners might sound like a good idea for the construction of an outdoor structure. The fact is, however, that when stainless steel comes in contact with aluminum it produces electrolysis. This reaction actually destroys the aluminum. So, while the fasteners themselves would last a good long time, they would slowly eat away the aluminum which they are supposed to be holding together. To solve this problem, we use ceramic coated fasteners. This not only keeps the price down but eliminates electrolysis as well.
